A colaboration with the wonderful Adriene Lilly “Space of an Eye” combines an interactive experince with Adrienes soundscape focusing on an experince of eye surgery.
The listerner aproatches the peice and puts on headphones through which they hear a recount of glaucoma surgery along with other ambient sounds and medical/religuous/biological takes of the eye.
Their face is tracked using a Kinect sensor and the area of their left eye is isolated and projected in front of them in real time, encouraging them to consider their own eye as an object and space. Their gaze is also tracked with the direction they are looking in altering the mix of sounds they are hearing.
This peice was first shown at Bushwick Open Studios 2017.
